Boom
Boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb
The world has ended. Jules was lured to Jo’s basement with the offer of a ‘sex to change the course of the world’. She didn’t realise the world was going to end, and that Jo knew it was going to end, and that Jo isn’t quite what the advertisement described. This is a museum piece, with curator talking us through the beats and hypothesis of the story she tells.
Directed by Harrison Epstein, my lighting design centred around delineating the museum and basement spaces, fracturing the play’s action. Much of my design experiemented with incorporating dramatic silhouettes and highlighting the comedy of the work through tactical use of specials and intelligently placed shifts in light..
