Copenhagen
Copenhagen by Michael Frayn
WWII. Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr meet in Copenhagen, what they discuss is lost to history. Michael Frayn’s reimagining of this meeting blends politics, intrigue and nuclear physics, in one of the most high stakes backdrops in history.
Under the direction of Caitlin Williams (Blackmore), this design implemented a filmic aesthetic inspired by black and white drama and spy films. The monochromatic palette of the set and costume was highlighted by simple extensions of neutral colour, evoking clear imagery of the world while keeping the characters isolated and confined.
